Some guy from Brazil, if you want the short version. If you have a minute, here's the longer one.

I'm Leonardo Machado — originally from Minas Gerais, now settled in São Paulo, where I spend my days working with data: finding patterns, building pipelines, and trying to turn numbers into decisions someone can actually act on. My academic background is in Physics, which mostly left me with two things: a soft spot for elegant explanations, and an allergy to hand-wavy ones.

That's the résumé version. The truer version is that I've always been the kind of person who falls down rabbit holes — a documentary about quantum computing turns into a weekend reading about Shor's algorithm; a throwaway Instagram ad for a paint-by-numbers kit turns into a four-part series on image processing. AxeCrafted is where those rabbit holes go once I've climbed back out of them.

I write here without a content calendar, a monetization plan, or much regard for whether a post "performs." I get into that in more detail in Why I Write, but the short of it is: exploration, for the simple pleasure of it.

Outside of data and writing, you'll usually find me with a cup of coffee I've spent too long brewing, cooking something my wife will diplomatically call "an experiment," or losing a staring contest to one of our cats. If we ever meet in person and I mention whisky, that conversation was inevitable.

Thanks for stopping by. If something here is wrong, incomplete, or just interesting to you, get in touch — I'd genuinely like to hear about it.
